    None of my computers have CD/DVD drives, this works great with both my mac and pc computers. The pop-up mobile external DVD-RW works great, as soon as it was plugged it I was able to play CDs and DVDs without any issues, plus I've even been burning mix CDs again like it's the year 1999. Got the white topped black bottom color, it looks sleek and goes with other computer accessories.The USB cord is very short and is part of the drive, it is not removable, this cord works fine for my uses, it's 8 inches long.

    In today's world of new slick laptops, it seems they've decided CD/DVD drives are no longer important hardware to be included in their design. I bought this because my doctor is apparently stuck in the stone age and couldn't send me the image files I needed in any other form than on a CD. Received the drive when I plugged it in, Windows detected it immediately, I got my images downloaded digitally and then watched a movie of another computer. Great little low profile drive, and gets its intended jobs done just fine. Haven't tested the burner yet, but I anticipate that'll work just fine too.
